Mark E. Quark is the DJ alter ego of Mark Hanson, shaped by industrial music, acid house, and Belgian new beat from an early age. His style leans into groovy, laid-back, and dirty house music, with influences that include DJ Harvey, Idjut Boys, Jeno, and early Andrew Weatherall.
Quark has been part of Southern California nightlife through events including SOMA, Playskool, and G-Force, while also contributing to San Francisco parties such as The Gathering, Basics, Out Of Sight, Stompy Dig In, and Sunset. He has played alongside artists including Doc Martin, Derrick L. Carter, Lil Louie Vega, Juan Atkins, Mark Farina, Aphex Twin, and Moby, released music on Hi-Phen, Camouflage, and Facade, and currently performs bi-weekly at Moonshake in San Diego with Dr. Indulgent and Bob Dazzla.
