DJ Mellinfunk is a longtime figure in the Los Angeles underground scene, active since 1989 and known for a hard-hitting mix of old school, techno, jungle, hard acid techno, and hip-hop acapellas over his own beats. Recognized as R.A.W’s first partner, he became closely tied to the early energy of Southern California rave culture.
In 1998, Mellinfunk launched the jungle label Mainline Records and built a catalog that includes more than 50 mixes, including two major-selling mixtapes. He has performed across Europe and much of the United States, with appearances at events including Grape Ape, Technostate, No-Doz, What, and Love Parade, later returning to the scene in 2012 as a leading Southern California acid techno performer.
