DJ Scooba is a Los Angeles drum and bass veteran, founding member of Junglist Platoon, and longtime resident of RESPECT, the city’s longest-running drum and bass weekly. His style moves across different sides of drum and bass, adjusting to the crowd while keeping the flow tight, direct, and built for the dancefloor.
Scooba first entered the underground scene in 1991 through techno and acid house warehouse parties, then helped form Junglist Platoon around 1994 with Oscar Da Grouch, Machete, Clutch, and No Face. In 1999, the crew helped launch RESPECT, and Scooba went on to share lineups with artists including Kenny Ken, DJ Rap, Shy FX, Fabio, Grooverider, Goldie, Dieselboy, Pendulum, Photek, DJ Zinc, Krust, and DJ Die, while also playing events such as Bassrush, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, and World of Drum and Bass.
