Simon Apex is a dance music artist and ’90s rave figure whose career connects pirate radio, harder EDM styles, breaks, bass, and drum and bass culture. From British council estate roots to global festival stages, his work has helped shape the sound and direction of modern dance music.
After being discovered by Insomniac’s Pasquale Rotella, Simon became a fixture at festivals including EDC and Nocturnal Wonderland. He co-founded Shrine Studios with Bonzai Caruso, launched ViBE 99.7FM, and later partnered with Dolby in 2023 to build a dedicated Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio studio for dance music before joining Dolby’s Spatial Audio Development Team in 2024.
